Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation
SPEC is a non-profit organization that puts together benchmarks on a variety of products and services. Currently they have a number of test areas:
- CPU
- Graphics / applications
- HPC / OMP
- Java Client / Server
- Mail Servers
- Network File System
- Power and Performance
- SIP
- Virtualization
- Web Servers
They obviously do not test every product on the market but it does provide some interesting results from major vendors (EMC, HP, IBM, SUN, etc.)
